It's Oregon Cider Week and our friends at Portland Cider Co. asked us to come up with a cocktail to celebrate the occasion. Our co-founder Lucas Plant is an avid cider drinker (his go-to is a pint of cider and shot of Fernet), so he was happily up to the task.  The Marshallatta By Lucas Plant of Bull in China for Portland Cider Co. 1 oz. We are huge fans of Plum Tree Jam, so when we heard they were coming out with a special spiced cranberry jam for the holidays, we immediately got our hands on some for cocktail r&d.

This one comes from bartender Ryan Kennedy of Cook & Brown Public House in Providence, RI and will ease you right into fall. He calls this Manhattan variation the "Malt Whitman," swapping the traditional sweet vermouth for maple syrup and maraschino for cherry herring. 

This one is from Michael Lorberbaumor of the Multnomah Whiskey Library in Portland, Oregon. It's his balanced twist of our all-time favorite cocktails, the Boulvardier.
